Cupuacu – Vital Source Of AntiOxidants
Believe it or not that strange looking fruit shown above is going to be my first entry in this blog about staying young and healthy. It’s a Brazillian fruit called cupuacu that’s known for it’s ability to help with anti-aging, your immune system and your heart.
Cupuacu is a rarely heard of delicious and very nutritious fruit that grows on trees which can reach heights from 16 to 50 feet. This fruit of the tree is in the cocoa family and contains a potent antioxidant called polyphenols. There are also unique nutrients in cupuacu fruit called theograndins which makes this fruit healthy and powerful.
The fruit is hard on the outside much like the shell of a coconut, but it is larger and shaped more like a football. The fruit ripens in the months from January to April and the pulp is white and creamy and has an exotic white chocolate flavor. In South America the pulp of this fruit is considered a delicacy and has been used in ice cream, juices, jams, tarts and much more. The juice is similar to energy boosting coffee but it does not contain caffeine.
Cupuacu fruit has a ridiculous amount of nutrients and when compared to the other popular Brazillian acai berry, cupuacu has more nutrients because it is bigger in size than the small acai berries. This unique fruit has the ability to fight damaging free radicals and because it is enriched with many vitamins such as vitamin A, B1, B12, B3 and vitamin C. Plus, it has rich flavanoid content. This super fruit also contains the minerals calcium, selenium, and essential fatty acids including Omegas 3 and Omega6 and amino acids. Fatty acids help to reduce bad cholesterol while keeping good cholesterol intact.
The combination of antioxidants, vitamins and essential fatty acids helps cupuacu combat heart disease. There are many other cupuacu heath benefits including keeping the skin healthy and making it more radiant and youthful looking. Other health benefits include the following:

Cupuacu is available in several forms including capsules, powders and pill form. There are little known side effects which makes it safe for most people to take. That being said don’t do anything stupid like try it, get sick and come blaming me. You should always research this kind of stuff and definitely consult with your doctor if you’ve got any serious health conditions. The goal here is to get rid of the wrinkles, not your life.
